Hello and thank you for visiting!
My name is Karen Agaton (she/her), a Restorative and Yin yoga instructor based in Toronto. I was born in Vancouver, B.C. but moved to Ontario while I was still small. I basically grew up in Courtice during my elementary years, and then Hamilton until just a few years ago. Yoga came into my life while I still in college, trying out different yoga studios thanks to Groupon! Like many folks out here in the west, the physical aspect of yoga very much appealed to me. But then I discovered the slowness, the mindfulness, and the work of self-study that I was invited to inquire during each class, and this really changed the way I moved through life. A few years later, a death in the family affected me deeply, which drew me to yoga even more and that’s when I decided to pursue and eventually complete yoga teacher training.
My goal as a yoga instructor is to keep it simple, by guiding students through the movements, breathwork, and poses that have brought me comfort, peace, and a renewed sense of energy. I provide as many options as I can for a given pose and have taught and continue to teach students with different needs, abilities, and body sizes.
